City of Cranes takes the viewer on a journey high up into the sky in London, England to experience first-hand what it means to work hundreds of feet above the ground, only surrounded by a small metal cage. The film gives the viewer an insight into a different aspect of a crane driver’s life, from their unique contribution to the way London is changing, to their relationship with the machines they operate, to the mental and physical challenges their job poses, to the impact of their solitary existence on their lives.
